Colleen Rosser Nixon Tingey

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away December 10, 2023 unexpectedly from heart failure.  Colleen Rosser was born August 27, 1946 in Salt Lake City Utah to Thomas L. and Arlean (Barber) Rosser.  Colleen was the only child for thirteen years and then her brother Bradley T. came to the Rosser family on May 5, 1959 and made the Rosser family complete with joy and happiness.

Colleen graduated from Bountiful High School in 1964.  On February 10, 1967 she married Steven T. Nixon in the Salt Lake City Temple.  They were married 28 years before divorcing.  They had two beautiful children; daughter Cassandra Lynn and son Steve Shayne.  She also married Ken Tingey and was married to him for 18 years.  Colleen worked for over 30 years for the JC Penney Corporation.  She loved reading and loved doing family history work.

Colleen was a faithful active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She served in many callings in Primary, Ward and Stake Relief Society and many committees.  She had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Later in her life, in 2010 was a very special calling of serving in the Bountiful Temple.

The precious gift of Colleen's life is her family who brought her much joy and happiness.  Colleen is survived by her daughter Cassie (Kymber) Housley; son Steve S. Nixon; grandson Chaz (Courtney) Housley; granddaughter Hadlee (Corey) Daines; granddaughter Brooklyn Housley; six great-grandchildren: Presley, Hayes, Declan, Jones, Harper and Laila joining in March; sister-in-law Leslie Rosser; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends who are also her family.  Colleen is preceded in death by her parents and brother Brad.

We would like to thank all the families and friends that loved our mother throughout her life.  Our hearts are humbled by the love, kindness and generosity all of you have shown.  We are forever grateful.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16 at the Bountiful 28th Ward building, 1450 South 350 West, Bountiful UT, where a viewing will be held Friday evening, December 15 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 9:30-10:40 prior to the services. Interment - Lakeview Cemetery.
