Collin Charles Wilson was the second son born to Elroy and Dawna Lou B. Wilson. He was born April 23, 1967 in Bountiful, Utah. He was 14 months younger than his brother, Shon, and 4 ½ years older than his brother, Ryan. He passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at home with no known cause.
His childhood was filled with all-boy things attending grade school in Bountiful and graduating from Viewmont High School. He liked playing little league football and added wrestling in high school. His true love and interest was in cars and in hotrods. . He traded a mini-bike for a 1941 International pickup before he even had a driver’s license and then spent all his money, time and energy making a truly memorable truck. He loved speed, Hemi’s, Weber Carburetors, Drag Racing, and added a 1966 Chevelle SS 427 to spend time and money.
In April 1990, Collin and two of his friends were injured in a car accident near Jackson, WY that left Collin a quadriplegic. Life Changing – yes, but Collin had a strong will to survive and he did for nearly 25 years.
He will be remembered most as the voice at his Dad’s automotive business – giving customer quotes, ordering parts, making appointments and working with Shon and his Dad. Even though he wasn’t able to work on cars any longer, he could still walk anyone through a repair process and give advice.
He is survived by his parents, Elroy and Dawna Lou, his brother, Shon (Shelli), and Ryan (Nacole); nephews, Conor, Alec, and Brody, nieces, Rylee and Kate and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
