Connie Jean Buckley

September 16, 1951– October 12, 2024

Connie Jean Buckley, age 73, of Ogden Utah, was met by her dogs, Poppy, Baby and Buddy on the Rainbow Bridge as she returned home to her loving Heavenly Father and Mother and elder brother Jesus Christ on October 12, 2024.

In that crowd she was also greeted by her earthly Father, Lavern Lloyd Buckley and Mother, Norma Konkle Buckley, her sister Sandy Buckley Glissman and Grandpa and Grandma Buckley and Konkle, who we are sure threw their arms around her in a warm welcome home.

Connie was born September 16, 1951 in Ogden Utah. She was the oldest of three children, all girls. Her sister Sandy proceeded her in death. She is survived by her youngest sister, Dianna (Debbie) Buckley of Mesquite, Nevada.

Connie was quite a character. She was a person of multiple interests and passions. She loved motorcycles and cars, but also loved playing the piano and taking care of new born babies. Her favorite school subject was math. She loved going to church but also loved going with her cousin to read comic books. She loved fishing with her Dad and sister. She loved crocheting afghans, doing puzzles, reading and coloring. She loved warm bread made by Grandma Buckley and going with her Grandpa to have an ice cream at the store and of course her favorite was Neapolitan, with all its mixed flavors.

Connie was a dog person and loved her Chihuahuas. Her favorite one being Poppy. He was a little black Chihuahua that was full of love for her. He was “her boy”. She taught him to not bark, which is quite a feat for a Chihuahua. Way to go Connie!

Connie was fiercely independent and proud that she had learned that at an early age from her father. She moved out on her own after completing training to become a CNA and lived on her own until her health required her to be in a nursing home, but even there she supported herself as best she could, and in her words she did her “thing.”

Connie worked for 20 years at McKay Dee Hospital as a CNA in the Labor and Delivery area. She worked nights and her favorite part was when the evening work was slow she could go into the nursery and help care for the newborn babies. She retired at age 45 due to health issues.

Connie spent the remainder of her years in various assisted living and nursing homes. Her final home was at the Crestwood Care Center in Ogden. Here she was surrounded by Nurses, CNA’s, other residents and church leaders who loved and cared for her. She was their favorite! She will surely be missed.

Connie endured faithfully to the end. She suffered much pain with her multiple health issues but she did her best to be happy and share her life with others. She loved her Savior and was devoted to Him in sharing his teachings and loving others as He did. She was a beautiful daughter of God and her countenance shown with that knowledge.

She and her family would like to thank the caring individuals at the Crestwood Care Center who shared in her final days and for the Tender Care Hospice team who so lovingly helped her on the path to return home.
