Beloved wife and mother, Connie Jean Hill Haddon, 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 21 surrounded by her family in Bountiful, Utah. Connie was born October 29, 1952 to Earl and Ada Jean Hill in Salt Lake City, Utah. Connie was the third of seven children. After graduating from Roy High School, she attended Snow College and Weber State College.
In September of 1974, she married Rick Haddon, the love of her life in the Salt Lake temple. They were blessed with five children. She dedicated her life to loving and serving her family. Mom was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many church callings, some of which include; ten years with the Special Needs primary, nine years as ward chorister, and many years in the Relief Society and Young Women’s organizations.
Connie loved music and had a beautiful alto voice. In her youth she played Tzeitel in a community production of Fiddler on the Roof. She continued to sing throughout her life. Mom always sang with, or served callings in her ward choir. She taught her family to love singing. We enjoyed singing together as a family with our Mother during countless Family Home Evenings, road trips, camping vacations, and Christmas seasons.
It was her great honor and joy to serve the last ten years of her life as a temple ordinance worker in the Bountiful, Utah temple. She also served for two years as a Guest Service Missionary with her husband Rick at Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
Connie enjoyed working for many years at the Lion House Pantry, and also for a time at the Church Administration building where she loved having the opportunity to talk with and serve many of the General Authorities of the LDS church.
Mom took pleasure working with her hands. She embroidered over 50 temple aprons that she gave away to family and friends. She spent thousands of hours in crochet as well, all of which she donated to Humanitarian aid, or for her ward for new babies. In her last year of life Connie created over 30 beautiful quilts for all of her many children and grandchildren.
She was well loved and will be sorely missed. The time between the beginning and the end of her life was shorter than we had hoped, but she made the dash between the years really count. We love you forever, our Angel Mother.
Connie is survived by her husband, Rick Haddon as well as her children Krystal (Blake) Larson, Sheila (Don) West, Scott Haddon, Michelle (Justin) Seal, Cindy (Joel) Kieper, 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Elaine (David) Thomas, Jay (Sheri) Hill, Larry (Sharon) Hill, Julianne (Don) Higgs, Brent (Moana) Hill, and Barbara (Chuck) Hawkins.
