Connie LaRae Hyatt Cook Sessions Wright "Grandma Connie", 82, our loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, surrounded by family, returned home to her family in heaven on February 6, 2023, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Connie was born on December 15, 1940, to Morlan L. Hyatt and Margaret E. Lund Stanley in Salt Lake City, Utah. Connie was raised in Woods Cross, Utah on a farm where her parents taught her to work hard. She is the second of four children, and the only daughter. She graduated from Bountiful High school, class of 1959. After high school she married Alan Kent Cook and had two children Carl Richard and Curtis Roy before their divorce. In 1965 she married Gerald LeRoy Sessions, who adopted Carl and Curtis and had two more children, another son Craig Randall and a stillborn daughter Laura Edrie. Connie and Gerald later divorced in 1980. Connie was a hard worker and worked various jobs while raising her family. Connie worked as a waitress for various restaurants in Bountiful and for Lakeview Hospital for 28 years, until she retired. While she was working at Lee's Café, she met the love of her life Victor (Vic) Danfield Wright, and they were married on June 28, 1987. In her fifties she decided to get her associates degree and graduated from Salt Lake Community College in 1997.
Connie helped raise some of her grandchildren, Russell, Brittany and gave a home to Kendall. She volunteered at the Bountiful temple for 19 years. After her children and grandchildren were grown and she retired, she served a mission on welfare square for seven years and volunteered at the gift shop at Lakeview Hospital until early 2020.
Connie loves the Lord and Savior and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved listening to general conferences and messages from the living prophets and other church leaders. She loves her family and is very proud of all of them.
Connie is welcomed in heaven by her parents, grandparents, her oldest son Carl, her daughter Laura, her great grandson Preston, her two brothers Larry, and David Hyatt, and her husband Vic.
Connie is survived by her two sons, Curtis (Amy) Sessions, Craig (Janie) Sessions, 22 grandchildren and spouses, 22 great grandchildren and brother Doug Hyatt. Connie's favorite name/title was Grandma Connie. She adored being a mom to her three sons, but she was everyone's Grandma.
