Our beloved wife, mom, and grandma Constance (Connie) LeRae Roby peacefully passed away at home on December 18, 2022, at the age of 91 surrounded by her loved ones. Connie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 10, 1931. She moved to Southern California as a teen and lived the last 50 years in Utah. She is survived by children Brad (Jeanny), Chris (Sherry), Tracy (Lorie), Brian, Kelly (Keith), 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, Aunt Winnie (106 yrs. old) and children Carol (Frank) and Roby (Debbie).
She met the love of her life and high school sweetheart John (Jack) Dixon Roby, who she married on June 26, 1949. They were married for over 70 years until Jack passed in 2019. Jack always said, “He was the luckiest man to marry the smartest and prettiest girl in school!” Connie worked for the Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco, California where she enjoyed an exciting job working directly with the Chamber President until becoming a full-time mom of five.
Family was everything to her and she was the best from-scratch cook there ever was. Her legendary meals were made with love, care and kindness and brought our family together every holiday.
Connie made the most amazing salad dressing and swore us to secrecy that we’d never share the recipe. So, now that she’s gone, here it is: 1 cup apple cider vinegar & 2 tablespoons salt… Just kidding. We’ll keep to our pledge and never tell. But had she ever decided to bottle up her secret and start a business, she’d have won out Paul Newman’s brand hands down and we all would have inherited millions!
She was an ace on the course, on the lanes, and at the card table and enjoyed countless hours playing golf, bowling, card games, and mahjong with her lifelong girlfriends. They were BFFs well before that was even a thing.
Connie looked stylish and beautiful no matter what she was doing and always had her ‘face on’. She stayed classy and strong until the end.
Mom/Grams, we miss you so much already, more than you’ll ever know! Give Dad/Gramps a great big hug for us. “We love you too, babe!”
