Coy Phenetta Liljenquist Tyson, our loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend left this earth on March 3rd to decorate the heavens. During the past four years she has been cared for with extraordinary love by another angel, her sister-in-law, Kathryn Liljenquist. Thank You Kathryn. Coy was born March 29, 1915 in Hyrum Utah to Charles and Maude Liljenquist. She married Ross Stock Tyson in the Logan Temple and together they had five children.
Coy was Relief Society extraordinaire. Ross managed the home while Coy was out nurturing the world. &qoute; To know you is to love you&qoute; was Coy’s motto, and that is how she lived her life. She was able to share her love with the Hmong people natives of Laos while serving an LDS Mission in San Diego.
Coy and Imelda had the same passion for acquiring a large quantity of shoes. Not only could she dress in the most refined manner she could also compete with any runway model’s attire. To the dismay of many husbands in the family, Coy passed on to her posterity the masterful skill of shopping and locating the best deals.
Coy is survived by her four children Toni Lyndon MacKay, Mary John Kenney, Mark Sandy Tyson, Kathy Alan Day, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty four great-grandchildren. Her death is preceded by Ross, her son Bruce, and granddaughter Angela.
There will be a viewing held at Russon Brothers Mortuary on March 8th, 10:00-10:45, followed by the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful, Utah.
