Craig Bryan Lavender

June 24, 1942 — July 8, 2015

Craig Bryan Lavender passed away quickly and peacefully at home from a heart attack on 8 July, 2015.  If you are reading this then I want you to know that I was blessed to be a husband, father and grandfather. I was born 24 June 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Don E. Lavender and Mildred E. (Blackham) Lavender. I married Marilyn (Marnie) Walker on 18 June 1965 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Throughout my life I was privileged to coach young men in basketball, baseball and soccer. I was also a scoutmaster. I worked at Hill Air Force Base for 37 years. I was also a member of the Utah Air National Guard for 32 years and retired achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. Through my service I was able to travel through much of the world. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have served in many positions. I fulfilled a Brazilian South Mission in my youth and 3 missions with my wife: a full-time mission to Cove Fort Utah, a 5 ½ year service mission at the Bountiful Regional center, and (currently) a full-time mission in the Woods Cross Stake. I am survived by my sweet wife of 50 years, Marnie, my sister Marilyn (Lee) Hancock, brother Bruce (Sharlene) Lavender, my 3 sons: Shawn, Kyle and Quinn, and 3 sweet daughters gained by marriage: Diane, Angie and Lauralee. Our family unit became complete with the arrival of our wonderful grandchildren: Loren, Tanner, Christian, Sarah, Nicole, Emma, James and Mia. Preceded in death by my father, loving mother, and loving in-laws Grant and Mary Walker. Until we meet again—Stay Blessed.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 16th from 6-8pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main St. in Bountiful.  Another viewing will be held on Friday, July 17th from 9:30-10:30am with a funeral service beginning at 11am, at the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 S. 800 W.  Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
