Craig Gary Barrett

March 27, 1949 — August 12, 2015

Craig Gary Barrett, 66, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was born on March 27, 1949 in Rupert Idaho to Dean Litson Barrett and Evelyn Kempton Barrett.  Immediately after his birth, his mother fainted upon realizing that Craig was a twin and his brother would be arriving minutes later.  Craig graduated from Bountiful High School in 1968 and served honorably in the U.S.  Army Reserve as a mechanic from 1969-1971.
Craig spent many years working in hospital refrigeration and maintenance.  He managed Trade Winds Park for many years.
He married Lana Jo Arnold in 1970 (later divorced).  He married Rochelle Marie Thomas July 8, 1983 and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple.
A friend to everyone, Craig found joy in serving others.  Some of his favorite pastimes included fixing and restoring John Deere tractors, riding motorcycles, playing the guitar and spending time with friends and family.  Craig enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how things worked and he could fix anything.  He had a love for scouting and mentoring youth.  Craig was a member of the LDS Church, and served as a scout leader, primary teacher and in other organizations of the church.
Craig's daughters called him the social butterfly, as he always drew people in and loved making new friends.  He was a great host, and always made sure everyone was having fun.
After a valiant battle with cancer, Craig passed away at home on August 12, 2015 with family by his side.  He is survived by his loving wife, Rochelle Barrett, daughter, Tedra Smith (Jake), daughter, Amanda Anderberg (Todd),  grandchildren, Kempton, Tanner and Gracie; twin brother, Cary, brother, Curtis, brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Jeri Thomas, father-in-law, Austin Thomas, many nieces and nephews, each one of whom he loved dearly, and treasured friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Adessa.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Bountiful Tabernacle located at 51 South Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, with a viewing preceding from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
