Cuma Hoopiiaina, age 90, passed away incident to old age on April 22, 2019 in Bountiful, Utah.
Cuma was born in Fremont, Utah, the daughter of Worth and Alma Sorenson. Her mother passed away when she was 3 years old. She then had the blessing of another mother, Nancy Blackburn Sorenson, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She married Merrill Forsyth, later divorced. She married Malu Hoopiiaina and later sealed in the Bountiful Temple.
She loved playing golf (2 holes in one), spending winters in Hawaii, trimming her rose bushes and giving out chocolate to the neighborhood kids.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Malu Hoopiiaian, sisters, Doris Garner and Jackie King. She is survived by son, Marlin “Moe” Forsyth (Mikell); granddaughters, Ashley Silva, Channing Woodward, and Chelsea Turner; eleven grandchildren; and brothers, Phillip Sorenson (Carolyn), Enoch Sorenson.
A visitation will be held for family and friends, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
