Layton, Utah- Cynthia passed away after succumbing from complications of dementia and stroke. She was born June 17, 1942 in Rexburg, Idaho to Glen E Miller and Vivian Seibold. She was the second of eight children. She was preceded in death by her sister Glendola and her parents. She was a great help to her parents in helping raise their children. She was lovingly referred to as the Governor for her command of the home. She graduated from Bountiful High school. She married Ronald Fred Haertel on August 31, 1967 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to her loving husband and family on September 26, 1972. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served with her husband honorably in the Rochester New York Mission from 1994-1995. She had 3 children Michael Haertel, St. George, Utah, Christopher (Brenda) Haertel, Bountiful, Utah Anna (Justin) LeFevre, Ivins, Utah. She was a good stepmother of 5, Rob (Ann) Haertel, Bonnie Bills, Tammy (Nate) West, Heidi (Grant) Hawkes, Matt (Becky) Haertel. She was the grandmother and great grandmother of 50.
Cynthia was a very talented woman and was blessed with very fine skills in sewing, knitting crocheting, gardening and cross stitching. She loved to play games and put together puzzles with her children and grandchildren. She loved to be with family and friends. Cynthia had a passion for reading and read to her grandchildren from her beautiful collection of books.
Cynthia loved to help others. She was frequently in the Relief Society and Primary Presidencies throughout her life and always put her all into every calling, especially the nursery. Being obedient was important to her.
She is survived by her brothers and sister: Glen (Wanda) Miller, Cedar City, Ut, Ted (Val) Miller, Ivins, Ut Gary (Farrelyn) Miller St. George, Ut, Susan Muir, Woods Cross, Ut, Barry (Karen) Miller, St. George, Ut, Dan (Ruth) Ivins, Ut.
A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday February 22, 2012.
Funeral Services will held at 11:00am Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Kayscreek Stake Center 2860 East Cherry Lane, Layton, Utah. Friends and family may visit prior to the funeral services from 9:45-10:30am at the Stake Center. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
