Cyrus Paul Dopp

June 29, 1927 — December 19, 2015

Cyrus Paul Dopp passed away peacefully Dec 19, 2015 in Bountiful, UT with family by his side.

Cy was born June 29, 1927 in Sarcoxi, Missouri. He had many adventures throughout his life. He served in the Navy, then attended refrigeration school. He met the love of his life in Kansas City, MO and married her in Burlington, WY. They shared over 63 years together. They built a successful business, City Electric, and raised 4 children Kip, Kelly (Mitch), Kim and Kyle.

One of his many accomplishments was wiring the Historic Lodge in Yellowstone National Park. He was dedicated to his faith. He helped establish a ward as well as building the sanctuary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.

Cy had a special place in his heart for the Boy Scouts of America. He loved the outdoors camping, hunting, fishing and hiking. His favorite vacation spot was his cabin near Hanna creek campground. He worked hard and played hard. He earned a pilots license and a ham radio license.

Cy left a legacy in every furnace he kept functioning in the middle of winter and the advice he gave to the DIY electricians. Cy is survived by his youngest brother Vernon Dopp, his wife Betty, their 4 children and spouses and their children, and great-grandchildren.    

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2015 at Russon Brothers  Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful where a viewing will be held from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
