Dale Harmon Anderton
1919-2012

Dale Harmon Anderton died in West Jordan, Utah on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the home of her son Robert. Dale was born on July 8, 1919, in Holden, Utah at the home of her Grandma Wood to parents, Owen Milo Harmon and Hazel Ellen Wood. She was the oldest of four children–three girls and a boy. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Cloyde, Bountiful, Utah; her daughters Karen, Bountiful, Utah and Lea Dawn, West Valley City, Utah; her sons Robert (Shauna), West Jordan, Utah and David (Beth) Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Stanley who still lives in Holden. She was preceded in death by her Grandma and Grandpa Wood, her Grandma and Grandpa Harmon, her Mother and Father, her Sister Verl and her Sister Geniel.
Dale and Cloyde were married in the Manti Temple on March 29, 1940. Over the years, they lived in Richfield, Utah; Glendale, California; Beaver, Utah; Twin Falls, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah and for more than 55 years Bountiful, Utah. Dale’s passion was rose bushes and she even did some test growing for Jackson Perkins of some rose bushes which weren’t even named at the time. She also enjoyed baking and many friends and neighbors over the years were the recipients of her cakes, cinnamon rolls and brownies. Dale was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and spent her life serving in the Primary, Relief Society and Sunday School. She was even a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts years ago.
Dale spent many years in sales of one kind or another. Many people remember the Fridays and Saturdays she spent at Dick’s in Centerville demonstrating various products (mostly the edible kind). Grown adults came up to her years later and related that they could remember going shopping to Dick’s with their moms or dads and having her feed them a piece of hot dog or pizza. She spent time all over the valley in many of the grocery stores demonstrating food products and she enjoyed that job more than many of the others.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Bountiful 45thWard Chapel located at 115 East Wicker Lane. There will be a viewing at the chapel from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery under the direction of the Russon Brothers Mortuary.
