Dale Page

d. December 23, 2004

Dale Charles Page age 89, died peacefully on Dec. 23rd 2004 at his winter home in Yuma, AZ attended by his wife of 62 years, along with their good friends and neighbors. Dale was born Dec. 5, 1915, to Charles Benjamin Page and Wealthy Ireta Brown Page in Bountiful, Utah. As a young man, Dale joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked in camps throughout central Utah. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army as flight cadet. He went on to server honorably during World War II as a flight instructor and flew many missions in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Dale married the love of his life, Nina Hess, August 8, 1942, in Farmington, Utah. Dale was skilled in many disciplines: woodworking, machinist, welder, electrician and carpenter. His attention to detail is no more evident than in his own home as well as several homes and apartments he constructed in the Bountiful area. While in the service, Dale planned, built, and sailed his own sailboat. He built his son several miniature motorcars and upon retirement from Hill AFB in 1974 after 30 years of service, built his own motor home for touring across the United States. Dales mind and hands were always busy. In his spare time, he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. Dale?s retirement years were spent traveling with his wife, and spending time with his son and his grandchildren. Dale loved to ride motorcycles, and enjoyed touring with his wife, friends and family. After he gave up riding at the age of 83, he took up sewing travel bags, seat covers, motorcycle covers, along with many other items. Dale was never afraid of hard work, setting a fine example for his son and his grandchildren. He was honest in his dealings with his friends and neighbors and never failed to provide a helping hand. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. Dad will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Nina; his devoted son, Steven Marlene Page, Bountiful; two grandchildren, Michael Jonell Page and Tamara Christian Campbell and six beautiful great-grandchildren. Dale follows his parents and siblings, Raymond, Karl, and Wanda, who all preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful where friends and family may call from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Interment, Bountiful Memorial Park. Special thanks are extended to Dale and Nina’s neighbors, Mick and Marge Reader in Yuma, for the unselfish assistance they provided Dale and Nina in their moment of need.
