Our beloved Dallin Juel Andreasen passed away the evening of October 25, 2024 in a paramotor accident after 25 full, beautiful, and adventurous years of life.
He was born March 12, 1999 to Ann and Matthew Andreasen in Salt Lake City, Utah; the third of what would be four siblings.
He was one of the last Eagle Scouts in our stake and served an LDS mission in Arkansas from 2017-2019. It was briefly interrupted by a necessary neck surgery to remove a benign bone tumor, but returned to finish serving his two years as soon as he was healed enough.
After several years of studies, he graduated from Utah State University in May, 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. He made the Dean’s list multiple times throughout his college years.
He wore many hats throughout his life, filling his years with as many experiences as he could pack in, trying every new thing he could get his hands on.
He was a musician: he played the ukulele, finding only the most complicated videos on YouTube to learn from. He also played the trumpet and single-tom in Davis High School’s marching band and drumline.
He was an artist: he drew intricate artworks, 3d-printed sculptures, spun ceramics, forged knives, and worked with molten metals, rare woods, and sparkling gems to craft rings.
He was an adventurer: he loved nature and all it had to offer, spending time outside as often as possible. He loved cliff diving, camping, archery, mountain climbing and repelling, paramotoring, and so much more.
He was a dancer: he poured his heart and soul into country swing dancing, learning everything he could about the activity and the people in his community.
He was a friend: to everyone. He was always looking for ways to help, always listening, always asking questions to understand and connect more personally with the people surrounding him. He deeply touched so many lives - more, even, than any of us ever knew.
Dallin is survived by his parents, Matthew and Ann, his older sisters, McKenzie (Kris) and Erin, and his younger brother, Kyle.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Shepard Creek building located at 1533 North 1075 West, Farmington, UT. The official memorial will begin at 10:00am, but anyone wishing to visit informally are welcome do so beginning at 9:00am. Due to the nature of Dallin's death, there will not be a viewing or graveside service.
The memorial service will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary Live Facebook page (click here) and on this obituary page below, where it will appear 10-15 minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, we would like to gather donations for the Utah Search & Rescue for their extraordinary service in bringing our beloved Dallin home. Since they prefer a single check, we are currently gathering these donations through the Venmo account @Ann-Andreasen.
