Dan C Springer

September 13, 1948 — June 3, 2016

On Friday, June 3, 2016 our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend, Dan C Springer, returned to Heaven for a great reunion with loved ones, after having had his last dinner/movie date with his bride, Mary Springer.

Dad was born September 13, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gerald Eugene Springer and Kathleen Wilkinson Cline.

He was a jack of all trades, a do-it-yourself kind of guy from a very early age.  He had a love and appreciation for cars and all their bells and whistles.  A dirty car was never found in Dad's garage, nor was a tool ever lost or out of place.  He and Mom enjoyed many motorcycle trips with their little bike gang.  He loved restoring classic cars to their prime condition, going to movies with Mom, family vacations, oldies music, and a well told story. He loved keeping time and owned many clocks.  Dad loved to be busy.

He enjoyed his childhood growing up on 1200 North in Bountiful.  During that time he built many huts and created the first neighborhood candy store, complete with a lemonade stand.  It was all managed with his own toy cash register.

At the age of 14, he moved with his family to South Bountiful when his mother married Remo Sterling Cline.  Shortly after the move he bought his own 10 speed bicycle, which he maintained and washed daily.  He eventually began working for his stepdad, and learned the plastering trade.  It was hard work but with his earnings he was able to purchase his first motorcycle which was his pride and joy.

Dad spent many summers in Boulder City, Nevada with his father and stepmother, Jerry and Norma Springer.

He graduated from Bountiful high School in 1966 and attended Weber State College.  That year he and his older brother Jeff, enlisted in the National Guard and during their 6 months training at Fort Lewis, WA they learned to really depend on each other.

He met the love of his life, Mary Petersen and on April 28, 1971 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.  Soon they began their family, welcoming 6 Children, two daughters and four sons.

As a New York Life Insurance agent for 25 years, he served countless clients who became friends.  He was still an agent at the time of his death.

Dad will be remembered for the great stories he told that were only embellished "A Bit".  He sincerely loved his family and cared about our well being.  He taught us how to do anything and everything from completing a hard days work to having fun and making memories.

Dad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in many capacities.  Many have said how wonderful our Dad was to serve with and that he knew how to get the job done.

There is a special place for our Dad in the hearts of all those who knew him.  He will be missed dearly.

Dan is survived by his wife, Mary, stepmother Norma Springer, Children: Shelly (Chadd) Watson, Breck (Jessica) Springer, Ryan (Stacy) Springer, Todd Springer, and Ali (Matt) Howard and 14 grandchildren.  His older Brother and best friend Jeffrey Springer, Sister Jill Hemsley, Brothers Brett Cline, Greg Springer, Rick Springer, Kerry Springer, Step sisters Elaine Mills, Sheri Graham, Penny Nelson, and Janet Lewis.  Many aunts and uncles.

Preceded in death by his infant son, Gavin P Springer, father Jerry Springer, mother Kathleen Cline, stepfather Sterling Cline, stepsister Diane Beesley, father in-law Frank Petersen, and mother in-law Gretta Petersen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Farmington Utah South Stake Center, 695 South 200 East Farmington, Utah.  Family and friends may call Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah and Saturday morning 9:45 to 10:45 at the church prior to services.  Interment will be at the Farmington City Cemetery.
