Daniel George Dixon passed away October 6, 2023, in Auburn, Washington, of natural causes. He would have been 58 in December. He went by Danny and will be missed. His middle name was after his great-grandfather George A. Dixon, one of the founders of Sugarhouse.
Danny was born December 3, 1965 in Inglewood, California. He was adopted by his father Dennis Dixon, and his mother Ramona Hansen. The family lived in California for a few years before moving back to Utah. Danny graduated from West Jordan High School, then moved to Auburn, Washington. He worked for many years at Home Depot in Auburn as a sales representative. Due to some of his own difficult life experiences he sought to help struggling youth overcome substance abuse problems as a counselor at a treatment center.
He married Melissa Peterson in 1992, then subsequently divorced. Later, he and Paulette had a son named Maks Leland Dixon, who he loved dearly. He loved and was a rock music aficionado and attended many live concerts. He loved the music scene in Washington and knew several of the local musicians. He had several exotic pets. His preferred method of transportation was skateboarding. He was a huge LA Dodger baseball fan.
He is preceded in death by his father Dennis, his mother Ramona, his older brother Jeffery, and his son Maks. He is survived by his brothers Kelly, Sean, and Tom, his step-mom Susan and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Monday, October 16th, 2023 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Russon Mortuary located at 295 North Main Street in Bountiful, Utah.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 “N” Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Directions to gravesite once you enter the Salt Lake City Cemetery: North on Main Street to Grand Avenue, East on Grand Avenue to Cypress Avenue, North on Cypress Avenue to 310 North, West on 310 North to gravesite.
