Daniel Hugh Dickerson returned home to his Heavenly Father Friday, November 2, 2018 at age 87. Born February 8, 1931 in Riverdale, UT to Udy Dickerson and Ona Bassett. Seventh of ten children. Served in the US Navy four years during the Korean conflict. Following his military service, he graduated from the University of Utah, served on the Salt Lake City police force, and taught math at Viewmont HS. He completed a MS in mathematics from Rutgers University.
He and his sweetheart, Barbara Holgate Dickerson raised their family of eight children. Dan was very creative with wood, making furniture, model airplanes, and carvings etc. and had many hobbies. He also enjoyed remodeling houses.
Dan possessed a positive, helpful attitude, focused on serving family and his fellow man. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served in ward and stake callings throughout his life. He loved to teach the truths of the gospel by precept and example.
Dan is survived by Barbara, his wife of 64 years, children: Mitchel, Julie, DaeAnne, Mark, SueZanne, Matthew, Monte and Sherrie, (who preceded him in death) also 26 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, and brother’s Mel and Richard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Bountiful Heights Stake Center, located at 33 S. Moss Hill Rd. The viewing begins at 9:15 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am. Internment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
