Daren Bradley Steuart

September 9, 1971 — January 6, 2021

On January 6, 2021, Utah native Daren Bradley Steuart, age 49, returned home to our loving Heavenly Father after a brave and valiant fight with COVID-19.

Daren’s journey on earth started September 9, 1971 as the second oldest of eight children. After graduating from Bountiful High in 1989, he went on to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Milan, Italy.

On January 4, 1996, Daren married the love of his life, Jamie, and together they had four beautiful daughters: Alexis, Alesha, Arianna, and Annalia, who were his everything.

Devoted and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend only begin to describe this fierce warrior who loved the Lord and his family, and who will be missed by many.

Daren’s thrill-seeking spirit fueled his thirst for adventure, whether driving fast down the freeway or hiking high up the mountains with his beautiful wife and girls. Confident he could take any opponent in a game-be it board, card, role-playing, or video-Daren’s competitive streak often carried him into the late hours of the night.

His innovative thinking and stratagem were not limited to games, however. Daren enjoyed the mental challenge of creating solutions to problems. His knack for out-of-the-box thinking drove his entrepreneurial spirit and love for learning.

Following his graduation from the University of Utah, where he double-majored in Political Science and Economics, Daren went on to complete his graduate studies at the University of Chicago, earning double Masters degrees in International Relations and in buiness (MBA).

Never one to back away from a challenge, Daren always worked as hard as he played, if not harder. His strong work ethic showed up in every aspect of his life, whether trying something new, running his business, or cooking up authentic pasta or crepes for his family.

Matching his stubborn determination, Daren’s heart was equally big. This emotional teddy bear had a passion for serving those in need and took delight in making others laugh.

Daren’s firm foundation of faith reminds us that in spite of the grief and pain, we can draw closer as a family and find peace in the promises of the gospel of Jesus Christ, knowing that God has a plan for us as an eternal family.

Daren is survived by his wife Jamie Ann Ellingsworth and four daughters, Alexis, Alesha, Arianna and Annalia; parents Raeone (Christensen) and Bradley; siblings, Tonya (Roy) Collins, Ryan (Angela), Rodd (Julie), Eric (Emma), Kimberley (Jonathan) Rivers, Ashley (John) Bennett; 30 nieces and nephews, and 1 great niece.

Daren is preceded in death by his younger sister Christy; father-in-law David Ellingsworth; and both sets of grandparents.

A viewing will be held Sunday evening January 10, from 6-8 PM at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main St, Bountiful, as well as Monday, January 11, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Maple Hills Meetinghouse, 1320 East 1975 South, Bountiful, with the funeral to follow at 11:00 AM.

With all of the emotional pain and stress an unexpected loss brings, it is accompanied by financial burdens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Jamie and her daughters for the financial burden caused by this tragic event. https://bit.ly/35m2scK
