Darlene Tovey Thomas

Darlene Tovey Thomas, 78, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Our mom will be extremely missed, but we are happy she will be reunited with our dad after being apart for 19 years.

She was born June 26, 1945, in Salt Lake City to Ronald Hart and Lavina Davis Tovey. She married Michael Riley Thomas, the love of her life, in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 26, 1966. She was an active member of the LDS Church in which she served many callings.

Darlene enjoyed camping at the “Little Yellowstone,” playing games, attending plays at the Desert Star, and was an avid fan of the University of Utah Gymnastics which she attended for over 30 years. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her 4 children, Greg (Kimberly), Wendy, Bret (Jena), Marci (Natalie Liggett) and 7 grandchildren, Alexis (David), Allison, Alyssa, Kolton, Denim, McKay, and Kayden.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the Woods Cross 2nd Ward Chapel, 790 West 1500 South, Woods Cross, Utah. Friends may visit Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street in Bountiful, and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin 10-15 minutes before the services and will be posted below.
