Inga Darline Ivie quietly slipped into eternity on 26 April 2019 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah surrounded by family. She was born 18 August 1926 in Spanish Fork, Utah and was the 7th of 9 children born to Andrew Runolfson and Thurren Rebecca (Anderson) Runolfson. She was raised in Spanish Fork and met her future husband Wilford “Bill” Ivie while they were in high school. When World War II broke out Bill and several of her brothers left for the military. After graduation Darline decided she needed to do something to help the war effort so, being adventurous, she took a job at the Marine Barracks, Clearfield Naval Supply Depot in Clearfield, Utah. When the war ended she returned home and eight months after his discharge Bill and Darline were married. To this union were born two daughters: Lanae and Janeil and two sons: Ronald and Kenneth. Her family was very important to her.
She and Bill eventually wound up working for the US Government at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah. Her health forced her to take an early medical retirement and after Bill retired in 1986 they moved to Gunnison, Utah. Ill health necessitated moving to Harrisville, Utah to be closer to family.
Her church was also important to her. She was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked for years in the Primary and ward choirs. She also did volunteer work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings: Rosezelle, Loyal, Kenneth, Ada, Lyale, Sarah, Lynn and Frank, as well as her son Ron.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter Lanae (Dennis) Baxter of Kaysville, UT, a daughter Janeil (Al) Ivie-Hart of Salt Lake and a son Ken (Shannon) Ivie of Mountain Home, ID. She left behind 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing for family and friends on Friday, May 3rd from 6-8 PM at the Colonial Springs Ward, 2360 N 600 W in Harrisville. On Saturday, May 4th there will be a viewing at 1:45 PM at the LDS Church at 585 N Main in Spanish Fork.
