Darrell H Nish, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, peacefully returned into the arms of his Heavenly Father on June 14, 2016 of caused incident to age. He was 83 years old.
Darrell was born November 6, 1932 in Plymouth, Box Elder County, Utah, to Robert H Nish and Cassie Dean Hyde. He grew up in Logan, Utah and graduated from Logan High School in 1950. He married LaDean Penrod on March 17, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple. They enjoyed 61 wonderful years together. They are the parents of 6 children. Darrell joined the United States Navy in 1951 and served from 1951-1955, and was a Korean War Veteran, serving on the USS Intrepid. Darrell attended Utah State University, graduating with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Wildlife Biology. He worked for the Utah State Division of Wildlife Resources for over 33 years, retiring in 1992.
Darrell and LaDean were joined at the hip. They did everything together and had many great experiences traveling, fishing and camping with their family and friends. Dad loved the outdoors, and wanted his family to have those same experiences. Darrell was an avid golfer and outdoorsman, and a dedicated fan of the Utah Jazz. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. Darrell and LaDean served in the Bountiful LDS Temple and also served a stake mission in the Bountiful Utah North Stake. Darrell had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a great example to all those whom he associated with.
He is survived by his wife and 6 children: Scott D (Lynn) Wanship, Utah, Malea Kae (Ben) Hansen, Vernal, Utah, Susan Nish Trease, Bountiful, Utah, Kyle Penrod (Patty) Centerville, Utah, Kimberli (Mike) McNamara, Spanish Fork, Utah, Robert Kelly (Diana) St. Helens, Oregon. Preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Bountiful 19th Ward, 1540 North 400 East, Bountiful. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and Monday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the LDS Missionary Fund.
