Darren DeMar Evensen

December 31, 1963 — August 24, 2018

Darren DeMar Evensen of WoodsCross, Utah was born December 31, 1963.  He left us on August 24, 2018 peacefully at his home. He was a kind loving soul that loved his family and friends.  He was always concerned with the needs of those that he loved. He graduated from Jordan High School where he played football and helped take the team to the state championship games. He took great pride in any work he did no matter how simple or hard the task.   He enjoyed learning about the Indians from Utah and the surrounding areas. This allowed him to do one of his favorite things, arrowhead hunting and looking at rock art. He enjoyed this so much that he attended the University of Utah to become an anthropologist. Darren was a daredevil and wanted to try everything at least once. He truly was a man of nine lives, as he would tell everyone around him.  He enjoyed other activities like extreme skiing, rock climbing, gardening, and spending time with his grandsons. With his love of the outdoors he got involved in the Wilderness Watch organization. Darren made friends easily and was always willing to help those around him. He was his own person, no one could tell him what to do, or how to do it, it was just going to be his way. He enjoyed hunting with his father and brothers and fishing with his family and friends. He made an effort to always be in touch with his family whether they were far or near and would check on them often. If they ever needed his help he would go out of his way to make it happen with no questions asked.

He is survived by his mother Dalane Evensen, spouse Elisa Evensen, children Ashley (Brad) Elam, and Nichole Forsland, Grandchildren Hadden Rotz, Rorrik Elam & Taven Forsland-Clos, Siblings Jeff (Cindy) Evensen, Terrie (Bob) Andrews, Marcie Johnson, Loni (Christy) Evensen, and Cody Evensen and many nieces and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his Father Demar Evensen.
