Darwin Morrell passed away on September 14, 2023, just 2 days before his 88th birthday in Yuma, Arizona. Dad was born September 16, 1935 in Richfield, Utah to Rulen and Inez Morrell. He was raised on the family farm in Fremont, Wayne County, Utah. He attended and graduated from Wayne High School in 1953. He was a member of the basketball team while in high school.
Dad married Mom, Peggy Ann Case on August 19, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dad was a retired member of Teamsters Local 222, having spent the majority of his career driving for P.I.E. Dad and Mom have lived in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Arizona. They raised their family in the South Davis County area.
For the past several years he has resided at the Cocopah Retirement Community in Yuma, Arizona. Dad was a hard worker and always kept busy. He was always there to help someone in need. He was honest in his dealings with everyone. Dad made sure that we had a peaceful place to live and an opportunity for an education. He passed on these traits to his children. He enjoyed boating and fishing and later in life even tried his hand at golf. Dad was always there to take care of Mom until her passing in 2019.
He is survived by son, Hal and Carol (Centerville), daughters, Kym and Brad Pool (Mesquite), Cyndi and Curt Buhler (Farmington), and Tana and Robert Gaia (Salt Lake City). He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children. He is also survived by a brother, Douglas and Janette Morrell (Central Valley), sisters, La Juana and Mont Taylor (Bountiful), and Loreen Miles (Bountiful). He was preceded in death by both parents and his wife Peggy Ann Case Morrell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Bountiful Cemetery.
