David Brent Chamberlain, 84, passed away in Bountiful, Utah on February 13, 2019 surrounded by his loving sons. David was born in Salt Lake City on January 31, 1935 to Joseph and Lorene Heaton Chamberlain as the youngest of 8 children. He was raised in Salt Lake City, served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in eastern Canada and married Janeen Beasley on August 14, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with four boys.
He graduated from the University of Utah in electrical engineering. He worked for a brief stint in the aerospace industry and then for many years as a test engineer and manager for the defense contractor that started out as Sperry Univac and eventually became L3 Communications.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and taught them the value of hard work and showed by example his love of Jesus Christ. He was a talented artist, pianist and organist, craftsman, and engineer. He spent many of his days working alongside his sons, and enjoyed skiing, fishing, and boating with family.
He is survived by his sons, Brent Alan (Rebecca), Mark David (Jennifer), Darrel Brad (Amanda) and Drew Brian (Jennifer), 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janeen, and his parents and siblings.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Bountiful Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful, Utah. The family will visit with friends and loved ones prior to the funeral from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Dedication of the grave will follow at the Bountiful Cemetery.
