David Byron Goodfellow, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend quietly passed away in his home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
He was born January 30, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the second child and only son of Byron H. Goodfellow and Suzanna van Paddenburg.
Dave survived by his son Keith David (Annette) Goodfellow; two granddaughters Jennifer Goodfellow and Shelby (Jonathan) Zubair; two sisters Dixie (Donald) Gilchrist and Colleen Pocok; a niece and several nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Byron H. Goodfellow, mother Suzanna van Paddenburg and youngest son Craig Scott Goodfellow.
He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from South High School. He then went to work for Associated Grocers, the Veteran's Hospital, and retired after 25 years as Grounds Supervisor for the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
As a young boy, he achieved his Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout Program. He was a skilled craftsman in woodworking; and had won many ribbons both at the county and Utah state fairs. He loved fishing, camping, taking off-road adventures with his family, and enjoyed spending time at the cabin he built with his two sons.
Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Russon Mortuary and a graveside service will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
