Our wonderful father, David Leon Jensen, age 90, passed away at Creekside Assisted Living in the early hours of December 24, 2018. As his memory faded he continued to bring smiles and laughter to all who cared for him. Dave was born September 13, 1928 in Salt Lake City, UT, the second son of Carl Theodore and Adriana Millecam Jensen. Dave graduated from South High School on June 6, 1946 then attended the University of Utah. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in December of 1950. Dave served a mission to the Netherlands Mission from November 1953 to June 1956. After returning home from his mission, Dave met his wife Dixie at an ice skating party organized by a singing group, Sacra Dulsa that they both belonged to. After 8 months of courtship, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 26, 1957. They have four children; Richard, Brad, Julianne and Jill. Dave enjoyed playing tennis, snow skiing (into his 70’s), boating with family, swimming, reading (especially about history), listening to beautiful music, playing the harmonica, backpacking, camping, musicals, Bear Lake trips and working in his beautiful yard. After Dave retired, Dave and Dixie wanted to serve a mission together. They were called to serve in the California Oakland Temple Visitors Center where they made lifelong friendships. Dave served faithfully throughout his life in various church callings; including High Councilor, Bishoprics, Bishop, Primary teacher, and Home Teacher. Dave is survived by his four children, Richard (Roslyn) Jensen, Brad (Susan) Jensen, Julianne Brady, Jill (Ron) Mortensen; 22 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife Dixie in September 2018, parents Carl Theodore and Adriana (Millecam) Jensen, brothers Frank Jensen and Marv Jensen and Granddaughter Ava Claire Bender. Special thanks to all those at Creekside Senior Living Facility, and the ComfortWorx Hospice team, and our wonderful nurse Carol and aide Joe. “Dad, your dedication to God and love to our family have been a blessing in our lives.” Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Centerville Utah South Stake Center, 270 North 300 East, Centerville, Utah.
