David Rytting Park was born June 22, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away November 13, 2023, in his home in Bountiful, Utah.
David was the fifth of six children. He was born to Richard John Park and Lucy Rytting Park. He attended Bountiful High. He and his wife Margie Park were married in October 2012, but were together for twenty-six years total. Together they raised one child, Christopher Park.
David is survived by his wife, Margie Park, his son Christopher Park, his daughter-in-law Kylee, and his three grandchildren Harper, Nora, and Ezra Park.
Growing up, David loved spending time with his friends practicing guitar, playing small concerts, documenting meaningful moments through photography, developing his own film in the dark room at Bountiful High, riding his bike all over the hills of Bountiful, or working on his car with his dad.
During his career as a musician and audio engineer, he played in several local bands as a guitarist, recorded albums for local artists, and mixed live concerts for many well-known artists. He had an amazing ear for music, and wonderful eye for beauty.
More than anything, David loved his family. Prior to his severe decline in health, he loved spending time with them going camping, fishing, hiking, and off-roading. He could frequently be found with his wife and son playing guitar, listening to music, watching movies, spending time sitting on the front porch talking and cracking jokes, or out in the neighborhood taking with and getting to know neighbors. He could recall everyone's name and knew details of everyone's life.
David loved the Lord, and deeply studied the gospel restored through Joseph Smith. He worked hard to align his actions with what he understood about the gospel and overcame nearly insurmountable obstacles through his strong faith in Christ. He loved worshiping with his family and friends, and always had something beautiful to share about what he had recently learned about the gospel. He refused to speak poorly of others, preferring to be merciful and forgiving. Because of this, we know all his weaknesses have been forgiven by God, he has obtained mercy and has been received with joy into God's bosom.
His heart is pure and is now as light as a feather.
