David Sanders Parrish

David Sanders Parrish, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018 in St. George, Utah. David was born in Moab, Utah, the third child of Vilate and Joseph Parrish. He was raised in Taylorsville, Utah and was a graduate of Granger High School. He served an LDS mission to the Gulf States Mission. After which he earned his bachelor of science degree at Weber State University; his master’s at the University of Utah; and his doctorate in entomology and pest management at Utah State University. He spent his career in various management positions at Bayer, FMC and Terra Industries. He married Patricia (Patti) Hunter in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on August 23, 1965. They raised their 6 children in several states including: Utah, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Iowa. Patti and David served two LDS missions together in Indonesia and Ethiopia. Following Patti’s death, David married Charyl Fowers on March 10, 2017. In addition to spending time with his family and serving in his church, David loved the outdoors and tending his garden. He is survived by his children: Todd David Parrish (Shawna), Kristin Parrish Corey (Jon), Kim Parrish Auch (Clay), Katie Parrish Ball (Nathan), Kathleen Parrish Smith (Scott), and David Hunter Parrish (Julie) and 23 grandchildren. David is survived by his wife Charyl and his siblings: Kathryn Sperry, Virgina Dutson and Marilyn Pettey. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Fernelius Parrish, and Vilate Sanders Parrish; his wife, Patti Hunter Parrish, and his sister, Joyce Parrish Aegerter.
A memorial in his honor will be held Thursday, Jan. 25 from 7-8 p.m., at the Buena Vista Stake Center, 860 North Fairway Drive, Washington, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful 27th Ward Building, 1145 North 200 East, Bountiful, UT, with a viewing from 11:00-12:30 p.m.
