Davona Thomas Henderson of Bountiful, Utah passed away peacefully of causes incident to age, in her home in Bountiful, December 24, 2017. She had been in declining health for over a year.
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Steve) Pack and a son, Bruce (Peggy) Henderson; grandchildren: Brandtley (Mandi Linn) Henderson, Mandee (Tom) Sanders, and Callee (Robert) Murray; 3 great-grandchildren: Peter, Phillip & Henry; one sister, Carma Ferguson. Preceded in death by her husband Ollie O. Henderson (2004), and a sister, Vesta Robertson (2014).
She was born in Springville, Utah to David Hyrum Thomas and Winona Frandsen on August 4, 1929. She was the oldest of 3 sisters. She grew up on her parents farm in Leland, Utah. She did a lot of hard work, harvesting beets and driving tractors.
She graduated from Spanish Fork High School 1948 and LDS Business College in 1950. She met Ollie at the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1950. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, January 9, 1952. She worked at Beeline Refinery, Westinghouse and Whirlpool as a secretary from 1966 – 1985.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various callings. She worked in the Bountiful Temple from 2000 – 2010.
She loved her family and grandchildren and loved having her cats around her.
She was a loving caring wife, mother, sister and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 at the LDS Chapel, 115 East Wicker Lane, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and Friday morning 9:45-10:45 am at the church prior to services.
