Dean Barton Thurgood

Cherished brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather Dean Barton Thurgood passed away February 1, 2018 of dementia.

Dean was born in Salt Lake City on January 12, 1935 to Lee Edward Thurgood and Vera Mae Barton.  He graduated from Davis High School in 1953, married his high school sweetheart, Ann Louise Miller in the Logan LDS Temple on October 9, 1953.

He was a salesman for a plumbing specialties co., later working and mostly playing golf at Davis Park Golf Course.  Dean was active in the Utah Golf Assoc., many civic and political committees.  He lived true to his LDS faith, serving in several positions.  He loved being around people, playing guitar and singing.

Preceded in death by parents, brother John Thurgood, daughter Kay Orton.  Survived by wife Ann, daughters, DeAnn Lathrop (Russ), Patty Thurgood, son Jeff Thurgood (Kim), 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, 4 sisters.

The family wishes to thank Life Care Center and Inspiration Hospice.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah with a viewing from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to the service.
