Dee Allred Peterson

May 10, 1941 — October 21, 2016

Dee Allred Peterson was born in Ogden, Utah on May 10, 1941 and raised in Roosevelt, Utah.  He passed away peacefully, at home in Fruit Heights, Utah on Oct 21, 2016.

Dee is the son of Floyd and LaFay Peterson.  He served a mission in Paris, France (1960-1963) and married Nancy Ence (1964) in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised a family in Farmington, Utah.  Their children are Brennan (Suzanne), David (deceased), Greg (Carolyn), Trent (Genevieve) and Victoria Johansen (Rud).  Also survived by his wife Nancy; Sisters, Linda Bird (Al) and Marie Peterson; and 16 grandchildren.

Dee, a lifelong dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, graduated from Brigham Young University (1967).  He worked as a salesman for a law publishing company for 29 years but his passion was language and European history.   Fluent in French, Spanish, Italian, German and Russian, he loved to travel (particularly with Linda and Al Bird) and striking up conversation with strangers – although no one was a stranger for long.  In his later years, he enjoyed visiting with family and friends and extracting genealogy records.  He particularly enjoyed extracting records from 18th century Spanish script.

There will be a gathering held in his honor on Saturday, October 29th from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 180 N. Mountain Rd., Fruit Heights, Utah.  Services will follow the gathering at 11:00 am.  All are welcome.  Dee will be interred at the Salt Lake City Cemetery following the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Primary Children's Hospital in SLC or some other charity of your choice.
