Dee Arnold Moultrie

    Dee Arnold Moultrie passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2015.

     Dee was born June 9, 1923 in Thayne, Wyoming to Franklin William Moultrie and Agnes Keturah Broadbent. Dee grew up in Salmon, Idaho after his family moved there during the Depression.

     On March 3, 1943, Dee reported to Fort Douglas to serve in the military during World War II. He spent his time in Europe with the 138th Ordinance Company and was discharged January 16, 1946. From January 6, 1947 to 1949 Dee served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission.

     On May 27, 1949 Dee married Arlene Margaret Carlson and they had five children: Susan Margaret, Sandra Dee, David William, Sherry Ann and Robert Glen. Later they were able to take into their home and help raise Elizabeth, Lesli and Lisa Carlson. He was beloved by children and grandchildren and had 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was a general contractor and built about 250 custom homes in Davis County.

     Dee’s life was one of service to others and in the church.  He kept track of all the callings he had held with dates included.  He served about 20 years as a temple worker and 5 years as a missionary on Temple Square.  He spent his time in missionary work and in his final years concentrated on family history.

     He is survived by daughter, Susan Palmer, daughter, Sandra Moultrie, son, David Moultrie, daughter, Sherry Johnson (Scott), son Robert Moultrie (Carolyn Cutler), sister, Beverly Strawn, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. His father, mother, wife, brothers and four of his sisters preceded him in death.

     Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the Bountiful 14th Ward Chapel, 1500 S. 600 E., Bountiful. Friends and family may visit Tuesday, between 6-8 p.m., at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, or prior to the service  from  9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
