On Tuesday July 5, 2022, Dee Thomas Linge, loving husband of 50 years and father of eight children, passed away at the age of 79. Dee was born on June 25, 1943, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Thomas William Linge and Melva Barber Linge. Dee graduated in 1961 from Bountiful High School, an asset for the football and wrestling teams.
Dee Thomas Linge, referred to as “Papa” by his entire family, showed his love for the Lord through his dedication and presence to his family in all things. Dee was an incredibly hard worker throughout his years and wore many different hats. From a Lineman at Murray City for over 30 years, to electrical technician at Dee’s Trees, to business owner at Christmas in Montana and the Rustic Candy Shop, even a soldier for the United States Army.
Despite his many responsibilities Dee always devoted time to his family. By far his most cherished roles were husband to his wife, father to his children and grandfather to his grandchildren. Dee also served various callings throughout his life for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most often sharing experiences as a full-time missionary to the Navajo people. Even in his last days, he could be found speaking Navajo with a twinkle in his eye.
Dee was an outdoor enthusiast; the natural world was his playground. He was most at peace when wandering through luscious woodlands and snowy mountains or fishing by a river or on his boat. From ducks to moose, he loved to hunt, yet always kept profound respect for all-natural life. When looking at incredible scenes of nature and asked, “What do you see?” His answer was always the same; “I see God”.
On May 27, 1972, Dee married the love of his life, Diann Fisher. They raised 5 children: Sheri (Jeff Wilkes), Clark Duncan, Traci (Jeffrey Glushko), DeeAnn (Kirk Gratton) and Stephen Linge (Debbie-deceased). Dee was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, his mother, Melva, his brothers, Michael and Mark, his daughter-in-law, Debbie Linge, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Diann, and his 8 children: Sheri, Clark, Lisa, Angela, Jennifer, Traci, DeeAnn and Stephen.
