Del Ray Lewis, our wonderful husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend passed away peacefully on August 15, 2018 following complications from a stroke. Del was born on August 26, 1948 to Vaughn R. Lewis and Ora Letha Roche in Tremonton, Utah. Del was a graduate of Bear River High school. He earned a degree in business from Weber State University. It was there he met his wife and best friend, Eileen Kelly. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 20, 1969. Del and Eileen were the loving parents to 3 children; Kelly, David, and Scott. They lived in Fruit Heights for the majority of their years together.
Del loved to work and he was an exceptional salesman. He founded his own business in 1973. He started out selling mostly lime, cement, and tools but over time he grew his business into a complete equipment sales and rental company; MESCO Inc. Along with the help of his brother, Farrel, he cultivated and maintained his business for the last 45 years.
Del was a member of the LDS church. Throughout his life he had many callings but his absolute favorite was assisting in the nursery. He loved the babies and toddlers. He'd scoop them up and set them in his lap just like they were his own. Del was an avid fly fisherman and took many trips around the globe for the thrill of catching fish. He also started a business out of his hobby, High Country Fly Fishers.
For the last few years, Del had rekindled his relationship with horses, owning several. They were a joy in his life. He loved caring for them and riding with his wife, Eileen.
Del was the absolute best father and grandpa. He adored spending time with his 5 grandchildren; Sebastien, Cecelia, Charlotte, Jack, and Lily. They were the world to him. Del had a huge, loving heart and will be greatly missed by many. "See you on the other side, best buddy!"
Del is preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Ora Lewis. He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Eileen Kelly Lewis. His children; Kelly (Ron) Blankensop, David John (Katie) Lewis, and Scott Del Lewis, 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.
As per his request, there will be no funeral. A life celebration and viewing will take place on August 20, 2018 at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Farmington, Utah from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
