Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Delbert Lewis Boynton, age 88 passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016. Born November 15, 1927 in McKinnon, Wyoming to Joseph Hyrum and Mary Jane Brampton Boynton – he being the youngest of nine children. Lived in Wyoming, Bountiful, and Kaysville. Delbert served in the United States Navy from 1946-48. He received the World War II Victory Medal for his service. Married Margaret Jensen, June 19, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was grateful for his membership in the L.D.S. church. He was a member of Salt Lake Cannon 7th Ward for 43 years. There he served in the following: Sunday School, Elder's Quorum President, Scouting, Ward Printer, and Ward Canning Director. He served a full time Cannon Stake Mission.
Delbert was a good mechanic – and always helped his family, neighbors, and friends. He worked and retired from Cummins Intermountain Diesel in Salt Lake City. He lived in Salt Lake City and retired to Layton, Utah.
He adored his family and was well pleased with who and what they have become. He loved spending time with them. Survived by Margaret, his wife of 63 years; six children: Pamela (Blake) Christie, L. Jeffrey (Teresa) Boynton, Debra (Guy) Hatch, Brent (Cindi) Boynton, Randy Boynton, Deanna (Ned) Franklin, 24 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren with a little munchkin on the way, and one great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by an infant son, Bradley, his parents, his four brothers, and four sisters.
Viewing will be at the L.D.S. Chapel located on 590 West Antelope Drive (2000 North), Layton, Utah from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 and at 10:00 A.M. -10:45 A.M. prior to the Funeral Services to be held at the same location on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.
Interment – Bountiful City Cemetery, 2020 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
