Della Armstrong

September 28, 1930 — June 17, 2013

Della Hepworth Armstrong passed away, surrounded by her loving family and returned to the arms of her sweetheart husband on June 17, 2013. Della was born September 28, 1930, in Woods Cross, Utah, the last child of Nephi Hepworth and Dora Maralda Jessop. She attended Davis High School. She married Byron Kesler Armstrong and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Della served in many LDS church callings and loved those with whom she served. She worked at the Bountiful LDS Temple, served in Stake and Ward Relief Society Presidencies, taught Relief Society, and was a great Den Mother. Active both politically and civically, Della served as the president of the Brigham City Civic Improvement Club and was on the board of the Brigham City Community Theater. She had a beautiful singing voice, performed with a local quartet and in several stage productions. Della founded and operated a successful catering business for 26 years. As an accomplished clothing designer, Della tailored period costumes for the centennial reenactment of the driving of the Golden Spike. Her passion later in life was creating and designing award winning quilts. Della was actively involved in the Utah Quilt Guild as a teacher and exhibitor. She loved holidays, camping, and family gatherings; any opportunity where she could enjoy her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was always proud of her family’s many accomplishments and will be missed by all who knew her. Della was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Kesler Armstrong, as well as her siblings Elsie, Robert, Faye Davis, Iris Moon, Richard, Paul and Carl. She is survived by Kesler Armstrong, Mary Ellen Bach (John), Julianne Ballard (Ross), Thomas (Adriana), Jonathan, Kathryn Severn (Ernest), 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main St., Farmington, Utah, with an additional viewing Thursday, June 27 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the LDS Canyon View Ward, 210 East 1825 North, Centerville, Utah with funeral services to follow at 11:00.
