Della Rae Baxter, 74, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on January 20, 2018, and to the loved ones who passed on before her. Della had fought a long battle with heart and lung disease. Della was born to Raymond E. and Oleatha Clinger on March 6, 1943, in Long Beach, CA.
Della met her sweetheart and lifelong companion, Cline Baxter, at West High School. They were sealed for time and all eternity on April 3, 1964, in the Manti Utah Temple. They were blessed with five beautiful children.
Della’s greatest joys came from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was never happier than when she was holding a baby. She had a very special love for children and was always so good to them!
She was an accomplished knitter, seamstress, quilter, and an incredible cook! One of her favorite pastimes was shopping. She could out shop any of her children and was amazing at finding incredible deals and bargains.
She worked for the State of Utah for 30 years. After she retired she spent years working on her family genealogy.
Della had a deep and abiding faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in many calling throughout her life. Her husband said that in their darkest times she always turned to Heavenly Father for guidance and direction. This always kept him and their family grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
She thoroughly enjoyed her later years with the love of her life, Cline, her children and watching her grandchildren grow. We will truly miss her heartfelt hugs, kisses on the cheeks, and words of love and encouragement whispered in our ears.
Della leaves behind her husband Cline; daughters Cheri (Tyler) Webster, Susan (LuDell) Madsen, Traci (Rob) Smith; sons Ethan Baxter, Dallin (Jenn) Baxter, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, with 2 little girls on the way.
