DeNese Petersen Adams

September 28, 1928 — October 16, 2015

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend DeNese Petersen Adams passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2015 at the age of 87 surrounded by her family. She was born September 28, 1928 in Brigham City, Utah, to Francis J Petersen and Margaret DeLone Bowcutt. Growing up in Logan, she attended the Wilson School and later Logan High School. It was there she met her sweetheart Lyle Duane Adams. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on June 3, 1946.
Throughout her life DeNese had many wonderful experiences. She started the Malad High School Dragonettes; worked for the Vice President of USC, Mr. Bolton; and performed throughout Southern Utah with the Red Rockers, a senior line dancing group. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she held many callings and touched many lives along the way with her service and kindness.
DeNese is survived by her children Gina (Doug) Howard and Paul (Sue) Adams; 7 grandchildren, Peter (Laura) Howard, Eliza (Jeff) Wellman, Ben Howard, Aaron (Ashley) Howard, Adam Howard, Travis Bitler and Carrie Bitler; and 4 great-granddaughters, Rozzi and Kirra Wellman, Alexa Bitler and Kayden Marquez. She is spending time with her 2 new great-grandchildren that will arrive on earth shortly. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lyle Duane, her parents, grandson Matthew Douglas Howard, and George Smith, a high school friend, who she was married to for eight years.
Funeral services will be held at the Bountiful 4th Ward Chapel, 102 East 1400 South, Bountiful, Utah, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am, where a viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm at the Logan Cemetery, Logan, Utah.
