Dennie Denhalter

June 21, 1975 — November 10, 2011

LAYTON Dennie Bruce Denhalter, 36, went home to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 10, 2011, from LDS/Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City. His mission has been extended. Dennie was born in St. Josephs Hospital in Orange, California, to Bruce and Patricia Denhalter. He was the fourth of seven children to come into their family. From the moment he came into this world to the moment he left, Dennie would warm your soul with his beautiful, sweet smile and giant, enfolding hugs. He was an Eagle Scout. He played football for, and graduated from, Santiago High School in Garden Grove, California. He was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions during his life, the most cherished of these were spent serving his two year mission in Hamburg, Germany. He loved music; reading; collecting his namesake Dennies Own bottles; going to movies, playing Fantasy Football, and World of Warcraft with his brothers; and spending time with his best friend, constant companion, and caregiver: his mother. He loved his family, and endured cancer and years of paralysis in order to spend as many precious moments with them as he could. Even in the most difficult of moments, the truth that was the driving force in his life was Every trial and experience you have passed through is necessary for your salvation (Brigham Young). The constancy of his example and his passion for life remains a perfect example of how we should live our life: a light upon a hill shining our way to where he stands with our savior. Dennie was greeted in Paradise by his sister Laura and all four of his grandparents. He awaits those he left behind: his mother, Patricia; his father, Bruce; his five brothers, Brett, Bart, Darryl, Dustin, and Daniel; his many nieces and nephews, Holly, Joshua, Laura, Brittany, Meagan, Bond, Maverick, Riley, Sam, Ben, Noah, Beau, Jesse, Sara, and Nathan; and his great nephews and niece, Kyle, Levi, and Juniper. No doubt he is playing with those still waiting to come to Earth. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, November 14, 2011, at the LDS Chapel, 628 S. Angel St. in Layton. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-12:45 PM prior to services. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com. His body will rest in the Uintah Cemetery until it rejoins his spirit in the first resurrection.
