FARMINGTON, UTAH-Dennis Dean Schwab, 69 passed away on February 5, 2017 at home in Farmington, Utah. He was born in Emporia, Kansas on May 12, 1947 to Clarence Schwab and Dixie Flaker Schwab. They lived on a farm near Lamont, Kansas with his brother Jeffrey, 5 years his junior. Dennis's father passed away when Dennis was 14 years old. Dennis sowed the row crop land to grazing grass and entered the U.S Air Force in 1965 when he was 18 years old.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War stationed at Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) Republic of South Vietnam from February 1967 to February 1968, and experienced the 1968 TET Offensive attack from North Vietnam. He served a 3 year tour at Camp New Amsterdam, Holland and 3 one year tours in Thailand. During his tour at Korat Royal Thailand Air Force Base he married the love of his life, Arunee Lomsoongnern, November 21, 1975. They arrived at Hill Air Force Base, Layton, Utah in February 1976 and he retired from the USAF in 1985.Dennis and Arunee loved Utah where they made it their home with Dennis working for aircraft/equipment contractors on Hill AFB.
Dennis enjoyed education. He received a Community College of the Air Force Associates Degree of Applied Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology, Bachelors Degree in Logistics/Management from Weber State College, Utah, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Dennis had several hobbies, gardening, hunting, fishing, sporting clays, target shooting, and a bit of skydiving.
He is survived by his wife Arunee, daughters Melissa Lynn Schwab Williams (granddaughter Ayva) Monica Lynn Schwab, and one brother Jeffrey C. Schwab of Kechi, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, at the Fairways LDS Chapel, 1533 N. 1075 W., Farmington, with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Cremation directed by Russon Brothers Mortuary. Inurnment will be at the Lamont, Kansas Apostolic Cemetery where he will be with Mom and Dad and many other family members.
