Dennis E Williams

November 15, 1952 — January 7, 2021

Our loving husband, father, papa, and brother, Dennis “D” Edward Williams, passed away on January 7th, 2021 at the age of 68 due to cancer and lung disease. D was born on November 15th, 1952 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Cynthia Pagen and Wilford S. Williams. The family relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah when D was 15. He graduated from Skyline High School and attended the University of Utah.

D was a natural athlete. His favorite sports were baseball, soccer, and skiing. He was also an avid outdoorsman. It was during these times in nature when he felt the spirit the strongest. He loved to go hunting, camping, and fishing. D and his son, Bren, spent many cold mornings fishing in the beautiful Uintah mountains.

D worked for and retired from the Salt Lake City Golf Course Division. He loved a beautifully manicured golf course and loved tending to his own beautiful lawn. He enjoyed playing golf often with his golfing buddy, his dear brother-in-law, Dave Edlund.

D was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He cherished the friendships he made through the gospel and through living in Farmington for 28 years. He met his wife, Jorie, when she was an RN, and he was her patient. They were married on March 23rd, 1990 and later sealed in the Bountiful temple on March 23rd, 2010. They were married for 31 years.

D is survived by his wife, Jorie, his son, Bren (Elizabeth), and daughter Brooke (Jeremy Simmons) as well as his two brothers Kip (Barbara) and Robert (Lu) Williams. One of his greatest joys in life were his five grandchildren: Jaidynn, Graysen, Holden, Kysen, and Luke. He dearly loved and is also survived by his wife’s family, the Hanks’ clan. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his sister, Laura Edlund, his brother, Steve Williams, and his two beloved Labrador dogs, Koda and Obsidian.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside service will be held by the family at 2:00pm on January 12th, 2021. Interment will be at the Farmington Cemetery. The family wishes to express their dearest gratitude to Dr. Scott Southworth and the nurses of Atlas Hospice, Stephanie, and Ashley.
