Dennis Owen Woodruff returned to his father-in-heaven on October 1, 2013 at the age of 59. He was born October 7, 1953 to Rodney Orin and Shirley Niles Woodruff in Glendale California. Dennis was very athletic and became a football star early in school and also competed in shot-put and discus. He was very impressive when he joined the ROTC and excelled in that also. Dennis went to Weber State College to become an X-ray Technician and worked for 20 years at Primary Children’s Hospital. He was a fabulous artist. His artistry also extended into his lapidary work that he did. He built beautiful guitars and his dream was to open a guitar shop and continue to build guitars. His ROTC training led him into the Army. He was stationed in Germany. He became a connoisseur of the German beer and bratwurst. He made money, drawing tattoos for his fellow arms men. Another favorite pastime for Dennis was fishing. He would carry Brother Darrell who had lost his legs down to the lake to fish. He had a fabulous sense of humor and was always very supportive and offered great advice when needed. He loved his family and friends so much, but what touched his heart the most were his beautiful children, Nicholas and Rachel and his wonderful grandchildren, Owen, Avery, Jillian and Roman. When he spoke of them he smiled like the proud papa he was.
Dennis is survived by his son, Nicholas Woodruff, daughter Rachel (Brad) Morse, his father Rodney Woodruff, and his siblings Linda (Scott) Derbidge, Karen Woodruff, Vicky (Kelly) Hales and his many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Shirley Niles Woodruff his brothers Darrell Woodruff and Randy Woodruff. Cheers to Dennis and Darrell his best friend and brother as they search for those great fishing holes! We love you and will miss you, until we meet again!
