Dee was born in a house in Cary, Idaho on June 20, 1933, to Elmer and Elna Bennett. Dee moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1959. He met and married Margaret Oberg in 1962.
Dee received his associates degree from Stevens Henager Business College. He went to work for WS Wallace Company for seven years. Dee then went on to own All-Rite Service where he did janitorial and lawn care services.
Dee was a member of the North Salt Lake Jaycees where he ended his membership as President. The North Salt Lake Jaycees won many awards under his leadership.
He was an active resident of North Salt Lake where he performed many different functions. He was also a member of the BPOE in Bountiful, UT for many years. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Dee and Margaret were also residents of Mesquite, NV where they enjoyed their retirement years. Dee and Margaret loved their gambling, and he could play golf year-round.
Dee was preceded in death by the love of his life Margaret and is survived by his three children, Jack (Melissa), Randall (Randy) Bennett, Kristy (Troy) Bangerter and three wonderful grandchildren, Andrew, Katelyn, and Cole whom he loved very much. He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jack, Reed, Mont, and Norma.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
Viewings for Dee will be held Friday, February 4, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. prior to services at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Dr. Margaret O. Bennett Scholarship Fund at Weber State University Development Office, 4016 University Circle, Ogden, UT 84408.
