Richard H. Cutler was unexpectedly taken due to a cardiac arrest after enjoying a beautiful spring day with his wife in the yard.
Dick was born in the home of his parents in Bountiful, Utah; son of Fredrick Willis Cutler and Hazel Edith Shill. He loved growing up in rural Bountiful and hiking with his friends in the foothills. He graduated from Davis High in 1951 when all the county went to one high school. He is also a veteran of the Korean War.
He married Sandra Sconberg on 26 September 1956 after meeting on a blind date. They have been dedicated to each other for 68 years.
He is survived by his wife and 5 children: daughter, Lynda Smith, and four sons: Curt (Nancy), Scott (Soon Young), Matt (Sherry), and Jim (Coni Sue). He has 20 Grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.
He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many positions and loved his time serving in the Bountiful Temple. He enjoyed many years as a building contractor around the Bountiful area and is since known for establishing Cutler's Cookies and Sandwiches, with his wife Sandra, which is now a Davis County staple for supplying great food, employment, and long-lasting relationships. Dick loved music and spent time learning to play the trumpet, guitar, and piano. He loved the outdoors and even went on a backpacking trip with his boys at the age of 70 only 3 months after having hip replacement surgery.
