Dixie Lee Madsen Turner was taken home to her Heavenly Father and family that were there waiting for her with open arms on June 17, 2019.
Dixie was born the oldest child and only girl on June 27, 1939 in Ephraim, UT to her loving parents, Boyd and Koleen Madsen. She grew up in Ephraim with 5 younger brothers that looked out for her, loved her and teased her relentlessly. She later moved to Rose Park, Utah where she attended West High School.
Dixie had 6 children, 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She may have mixed up their names on occasion but she loved each of them and was always interested in and remembered what was going on their lives. She was a fierce protector of her family.
Her big heart is what defines Dixie. She would always find a way to give, even in times when she had nothing to give. She looked out for others and made friends wherever she went. She overcame many hardships in her life and at the age of 69 attended the temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the first time.
She was loved and will be deeply missed by many. May she find peace and comfort in the arms of her mother and father, brothers and grandchildren.
She is survived by one brother Dan (LeAnn) Madsen, her children, Nancy Keele, Greg (Ann) Bush, Eulanda Hibler, Jackie (Dennis) Bangerter, Jeff Hibler and Jody (Shey) Johnson, 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Boyd and Koleen Madsen, her brothers, Gary Madsen, David Madsen, Gordon Madsen and Kent Madsen, her grandchildren Brian Stark, Dot Garrison, Aimee Garrison and two great-grandchildren, Marilee Garrison, and Rayden VanHuizen. What a reunion they are having!
Dixie’s life will be celebrated with a viewing from 6-8 pm on Thursday, June 20th, 2019 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.
