Six weeks after celebrating her 94th birthday, mom peacefully passed away at Fairfield Village in Layton, Utah, all the while being grateful for the life she lived.
Born May 1, 1929, to Robert A. and Margaret Earl Moss.
She married William A. Morton on February 21, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mom went to Bryant Junior High and West High School. She talked fondly of her growing up years in the Avenues.
While working at her brother’s coffee shop at the Rio Grand Depot she met the love of her life, Bill. Together they had four children: Kathlene Johnson (Darrell) Magna, Utah, Stephanie Balls (Dan) Oakley, Utah, Valerie Palmer (Clair) Farmington, Utah, and Jeffrey Morton (Evelyn) Bountiful, Utah.
As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she embraced the teachings of Jesus and served in many callings within the church. Many cherished acts of service were given while serving as Relief Society President and primary teacher.
She worked many years at the University of Utah LDS Institute of Religion and loved serving the students there.
Mom was an incredible example of love, kindness, faith and had a personal love for her Heavenly Father that we will carry with us forever.
For over 32 years, Mom continued her earthly journey without her companion and we are delighted that they are now reunited. She is preceded in death by her parents and son.
A legacy of 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren is left to honor her knowing of her love for each of them.
