Don Aaron George

July 19, 1931 — October 29, 2018

Don Aaron George, 87, returned to his Heavenly Father on October 29, 2018 at the George E Wahlen Veterans Home, Ogden, UT. Don was born in Bountiful, UT on July 19, 1931 to Aaron Rex George and Elizabeth Emma Smith. Don lived in various locations in his life and worked in many capacities to raise his growing family. He served in the Unites States Navy, became a salesman, received degrees in education thus teaching, even moving the family to Idaho to try farming life. However, mostly enjoyed his many hobbies like hunting, fishing, writing, and traveling with his family, finally settling in his original stomping grounds of Bountiful, UT to enjoy being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Don married two women during his life, whom each he loved both very much and spoke lovingly about so often. Ruth Janette Ginos he married on December 05 1952 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, and had three very rambunctious boys that kept them busy until her passing in August 1958. Then on June 09, 1961, also in the Salt Lake City, UT temple, he married Vilate Elizabeth Terrell and would add three daughters and another son. Together Don and Vilate enjoyed their 54 years together before Vilate passed in January of 2016. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Don enjoyed his many callings in his wards, and spoke of the friends he'd made whom you'd find him visiting with often. However, most enjoyable was his time in service to our country during the Korean war that took his adventures to Hawaii as an EN-02 with the United States Navy until May of 1954. He decided it best to return home to his beautiful wife and young children as this was where he was needed most. He was full of life and known by many titles to those he touched during his life being it a story teller, dreamer, teacher, ship-mate, church member or neighbor, but best he was known our favorites as loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, husband, and friend.
Don is survived by four brothers, Shirl, Keith, Cal, and Dale; and his children, Mike (Karen) George, Idaho Falls, ID, Dan (Shelly) George, Bountiful, UT, Marty (Winona) George, South Weber, UT, Stacey (James) Kaylor, Gilbert, AZ, Todd (Brenda) George, Shepherd, MT. Don has 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Don is preceded in death by his parents Rex and Elizabeth, 13 siblings-Rex, Lois, Lola, Wilma, Wilda, Wesley, Leslie, Lucile, Cleo, Frank, Carter, Jim, and Scott, and 2 daughters Kani, and Cindy, and granddaughter Mikayla.
