Don Brown

September 24, 1932 — September 1, 2012

Don C Brown, 79, passed away at home Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 after a long battle with Parkinson disease. Don was born Sept. 24, 1932 in South Bountiful, Utah, to Clyde Winegar Brown and Hazel Thelma Mathison.
Don attended Stoker Elm, the old South Davis Jr. High and Davis High School. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean War.

Don married LouAnn Lee on Aug. 15, 1959 in Bountiful, Utah, they have been married for 53 years. Don loved the great outdoors. He along with his wife, family and friends, spent many hours camping, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and snowmobiling in the Uintas, Wyoming, and Montana. He was an avid sportsman winning several awards for his marksmanship. He was also very instrumental in the founding of the “Centerville Rifle and Pistol Club.”

Don is survived by his wife, LouAnn, their children; Carri Hunt (Brent), Rick Neumeyer (Linda) and Cheryl Brown (Hoskie). They have 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Grandpa Great (as he was affectionately called) passed away three days after his newest great granddaughter was born. He is also survived by his sisters Illene Randall, Margaret Thomas, and his brother Tom Brown.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Clyde and Thelma Brown, and his sister Shirley Freestone.
Our family would like to especially recognize and express heartfelt gratitude to Brady Riss, a grandson, for all of his help and tender care of Grandpa this past year. We also want to thank the “Hospice of Utah” Dr. Holland, Brett, Holly, Brooke, Alison and Carly for their wonderful care of Don.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Centerville 9th Ward Chapel, 1475 N. 50 E., Centerville. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and from 9:45-10:45 Thursday morning at the church prior to the services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
