Don Michael Kunze
“Chef Don”
Don Michael Kunze passed away in his sleep at his home on May 2, 2106. Don was born on March 27, 1952 to Helen and Paul V. Kunze. Brother to Douglas (Betty) Kunze, Lois (Gary) Weagle, David (Suzy) Kunze, Dale (Mary) Kunze and Sue Ann (John) Whaley. He was loved by all of his nieces and nephews, (some who weren’t related, but he considered them his) and was especially close to Jeff Kunze after Dave’s passing. He loved fishing, camping, hunting and golfing with the “boys”. Don would take any opportunity to head up to the mountain to fish or hunt for the day. In his earlier days he also loved skiing, bowling and river running. Don worked in the food industry throughout Salt Lake, and was proud of his cooking skills. His garden was another of Don’s accomplishments, always happy to share his bounty with anyone who stopped by. Often when stopping by to visit, he would be playing rock and roll as loud as he could. He will be missed by his family and his many friends. Graveside services will be at Elysian Burial Gardens, Saturday, May 7th at 2:00 p.m. 1075 East 4580 South. Nicknames: Crazy Uncle Don, Duck, Donde, Dandy Don the Rodeo Clown, Chef Don.
